Canine Patrol Dog Training
Patrol canine teams are trained in obedience and tactical movements to insure they are proficient under violent and or stressful situations while on the street. Handler protection is a must for any patrol dog, as we never know when bite work will be needed. Building and area searches along with criminal apprehension will be covered utilizing bite sleeves, bite suits, hidden sleeves and muzzle work. Canine teams are trained to advanced levels of on and off leash control, including prisoner transportation, gunfire and directional searches. All canines are required to verbally out and recall prior to completion of course.
We also cover multiple adversaries, extended confrontations, airborne scent techniques, and evidence recovery with article searches. Bark and hold and bite and hold techniques will be covered depending on the department’s request.
